Commission-only Sales

An important reflection to share with you about commission-only assignments.💱

In my experience, these work only in situations where the commission earner is in total control of the sales process, and can log successes (plural) every week.💹 If it takes more than a month 🗓️ to achieve a sale, the resultant de-motivation will sabotage the project.😢

Here is a post, aimed at the "employer",

but equally relevant for the sales person:

Commission only B2B sales, the good, the bad and the ugly

So, my strong suggestion is to check things like the buying cycle really early in any discussion, and if it doesn't match your requirements hit the red button. 🟥

Stuck in "deficiency needs"?

How does your situation correspond with your current needs?

Situation, Have met:                                            Needing, lookin for:

Link: Maslow, Hierarchy of Needs

Maslow postulated that, before we can move on to fulfilling our "higher" needs, most of us require our lower-level, deficit needs to be more or less satisfied. Otherwise, we risk becoming stuck in an endless cycle of shifting back and forth between different types of needs.

So, if you were to take this as a working hypothesis—just to see where it leads—what would you be looking for right now?
